The border shapes daily life. Many residents cross into Delhi every day by metro or on the highway, and trucks for the industrial estates queue on NH 9 day and night. The AIIMS cancer institute at Badsa, a short drive south, brings doctors and staff who often live in town. Tikri border and the metro stations
Flats and rooms close to Delhi and the Green Line. The highway jams at the border for much of the day, so the hour matters more here than the distance.

The group housing societies along NH 9 are run by maintenance offices that want a move request, a no dues slip and the owner's approval if you rent, and they allow moves in daytime hours with a booked lift. In some newer projects the builder still runs maintenance. In a HUDA sector house, agreeing the day with the landlord and paying the last bills is usually all it takes. Workers' rented rooms near the estates change hands quickly, and the landlord usually wants the room emptied on the day the month ends.

Where the truck can stand
NH 9 is a wide highway, but a truck cannot stand on it, and the towers along it are loaded from their internal roads or the service lane. Trucks of any size get to the gate in the HUDA sectors. The old town and the lanes near the station are narrow and busy, so a pickup does the door. Around the Footwear Park and MIE the roads are built for trucks, though they fill with them at shift change, and a household van waits its turn.

Traffic and timing
The Tikri border is the first thing to plan around, because traffic on NH 9 backs up there in the morning and evening, and Delhi keeps large goods trucks out until late in the evening. A load for Gurgaon can go round by the KMP expressway instead. Inside Bahadurgarh the roads near the estates are busiest at shift changes, and the old town's bazaar from late morning. Weekday mornings are the smoothest time to load.

Weather and the months to plan around
Summers are fierce, with May and June above 44°C, and loading is done in the early hours. The monsoon brings short, heavy downpours, and water collects on low stretches of NH 9 and in the old town. Bahadurgarh often shares Delhi's worst air in November, and the pollution rules of those weeks can stop older diesel trucks entering Delhi, so a Delhi-bound move may need a newer vehicle. Fog is thick in December and January. February, March and October are easiest.

Is a move from Bahadurgarh into west Delhi possible in daylight?
