Shifting homes in Faridabad
Faridabad grew in layers. The NIT blocks were laid out after Partition for families who came from the North West Frontier, and their small plots now carry three and four storeys added over the decades. The HUDA sectors followed along Mathura Road, and Sectors 14, 15, 16 and 21 hold the older kothis and a growing number of builder floors. Across the Agra canal, Greater Faridabad, which everyone here calls Neharpar, is a newer belt of tower societies running from about Sector 75 to Sector 89.
Each layer asks something different of a move. An NIT house has a steep inside staircase, rooms added one floor at a time and a lane two cars cannot pass in, so furniture is opened up upstairs and carried a long way. A sector kothi is roomy, with a gate the truck can back up to. In Greater Faridabad the towers are tall and the lifts good, but many societies are still run by the builder's maintenance agency, and the rules come from its office.
Industry brought Faridabad its people and still moves them. Escorts, the JCB works at Ballabhgarh and a long list of auto part and engineering units along Mathura Road and in the sector industrial areas employ engineers, supervisors and plant staff who transfer in and out. Others live here and work in Delhi, Noida or Gurgaon, since the Violet Line runs down to Ballabhgarh and rents are lower than across the border. Families also move within the city, often from an NIT house into a Neharpar flat.

Packers and movers charges in Faridabad
Faridabad is long and thin, stretched along Mathura Road from the Badarpur border to Ballabhgarh, about 20 km end to end, with Greater Faridabad another 5 to 8 km across the canal. A 2 BHK going from NIT to a Neharpar tower leaves after breakfast and has its beds made up again by nightfall. The hours go at Bata Chowk and Ajronda Chowk, at the canal crossings, and on an NIT staircase where every cupboard has to come apart before it can move.

NIT Faridabad
Blocks built for Partition families, now three and four storeys on small plots. Lanes are tight and lined with scooters, so a tempo reaches your door while the truck waits on the block's main road.

The original town by the railway line, with a market that fills by mid morning. We load before the shops open and check the underpass after any rain.
Sectors 14, 15, 16 and 21
The established HUDA sectors, where kothis and rebuilt builder floors line broad roads. Most gates will take a 17 ft truck, and the stair carry decides how many hands we send.
Greater Faridabad (Neharpar)
Towers in the Sector 75 to 89 belt across the canal. Service lifts and loading bays, a maintenance office that wants details ahead, and some approach roads still half built.
Ballabhgarh
The southern end of the city, around the JCB plant and the old Ballabhgarh market. Company staff flats sit a short drive from dense bazaar lanes, and the two need different vehicles.
Surajkund Road and the Aravalli side
Farmhouses, villa enclaves and societies at the foot of the Aravallis. Access is easy most of the year, and the February crafts mela crowds the approach roads.

Society and building rules
The Greater Faridabad societies are the formal ones. Their maintenance office asks for a move-out request, proof that the account is settled and, if you rent, the landlord's written consent, and only then books the service lift for a daytime slot. Where the builder has not yet handed the society to its residents, the rules and the gate pass come from the builder's facility team, which can be slow to answer, so ask a week ahead. Sector RWAs mainly want the truck gone before evening, and NIT has no office at all.

Where the truck can stand
Almost anywhere in the sectors the truck, even a 17 ft one, can stop right outside the house. NIT is the difficult part: lanes between the blocks are narrow, cars and two-wheelers stand on both sides, and overhead cables hang low, so a tempo runs back and forth to the truck, which waits on the block's main road. Old Faridabad and the Ballabhgarh bazaar are similar during trading hours. In Greater Faridabad some approach roads are unfinished and turn to mud after rain, and we check the route to your tower before choosing the truck.

Traffic and timing
Mathura Road is the city's spine and its bottleneck. It clogs at Badarpur, Bata Chowk and Ajronda Chowk from about 8 am and again from late afternoon, and heavy vehicles are held off it at the busiest hours. A load crossing into Delhi waits for the night window. The Surajkund crafts mela in February fills the roads on the Aravalli side for two weeks, and Diwali shopping jams Old Faridabad and the NIT markets for days. Starting at 7 am on a weekday keeps clear of most of it.

Weather and the months to plan around
May and June push past 45°C, with a hot, dusty wind in the afternoons, so the loading is finished by midday and the fridge and television wait indoors until the truck is ready. The July and August rain fills the railway underpasses in Old Faridabad and NIT, sometimes for most of a day, and the truck is routed over a flyover instead. Winter brings smog and thick fog from mid December. February, March and the weeks after the monsoon are the kindest months.

Can your crew get a household out of an NIT lane?
Yes. A video call or a visit shows us the lane and the staircase first. The truck stays on the block's main road, a tempo makes the trips to your door, and beds and almirahs are taken apart upstairs because NIT stairs are steep and turn tightly. Starting at 7 am, before the lane fills with parked scooters, a 2 BHK is normally out by early afternoon.
Our Greater Faridabad society is still with the builder. Who gives the permission?
Usually the builder's facility or maintenance team, which issues the gate pass and books the lift until the residents' association is formed. Check with them what they need, often a request form, proof that nothing is owed and, for tenants, the landlord's go-ahead. The day before, we pass them the truck's registration and our crew list, and we check that the approach road to your tower is paved all the way.
Is a move from Faridabad to Noida or Gurgaon done in a day?
Yes. Noida is about 30 km over the Kalindi Kunj road and Gurgaon about 35 km through the Aravallis, so either one sits in the local column of our rate card. What takes the time is the building at the far end, where a Noida or Gurgaon society may give you a fixed slot for the service lift and expect the truck at the gate on time.
The underpass near our house floods every monsoon. Should we move before July?
If the date is yours to choose, June or September is easier than July and August. If it is not, we look at the route first thing on moving day and take a flyover when the Old Faridabad or NIT underpasses are under water. Cartons get a plastic layer inside the wrap, and the loading pauses during a heavy burst.
