Nashik has grown out from the old town on the Godavari in every direction. Gangapur Road and College Road have the newer apartment buildings, Indira Nagar and Pathardi Phata are family neighbourhoods of mid-rise societies, and the CIDCO side houses the people who work in the Satpur and Ambad factories. Nashik Road and Deolali to the east feel like a separate town, with the railway station and the army camp.
Housing is a mix of apartment buildings with small lifts, row houses and bungalows, and old wadas in the lanes near Panchavati. A bungalow usually holds more furniture and garden things than people expect, and a wada has steep wooden stairs, so we see the home on a video call or a visit before we quote.

Society and building rules
Nashik societies are easier to deal with than Mumbai's. Most want a note to the secretary or the society office a few days before, with the date and time of the move, and some limit shifting to set hours or keep Sundays and holidays free of it. Newer towers on Gangapur Road and at Adgaon book the service lift and may ask for a deposit. Railway and defence quarters at Nashik Road and Deolali have their own handing-over process, and we fit the loading around the date you are given.

Where the truck can stand
Outside the old town, most Nashik addresses have room for a 14 ft truck at the gate. The exceptions are the lanes of Panchavati and the old town near the ghats, where the truck waits on the main road and a tempo brings the goods out, and the internal roads of the CIDCO colonies, where cars are parked on both sides. On College Road and Gangapur Road the truck can stand while it is loaded, though not for long once the evening traffic starts.

Traffic builds in the evening on College Road, Gangapur Road, at Dwarka and at Mumbai Naka, so we load in the morning wherever we can. Festival days close parts of the old town, and a Simhastha Kumbh closes Panchavati and the ghat roads to goods vehicles on its main bathing days. The next one is due in 2027, so plan any move in the old town around those dates.

Weather and the months to plan around
Nashik is milder than most of Maharashtra, with cool winters, and November to February is the easiest time to move here. The monsoon is heavy in the ghats to the west around Igatpuri and the Kasara ghat, which slows loads going towards Mumbai, and after heavy rain the Godavari can rise into the low parts of Panchavati. April and May are hot and dry, and we start early.
