Alwar sits under the Aravalli ridge, with Bala Quila on the hill above the old city and the City Palace at its foot. The old bazaars around Hope Circus, Tripolia and Company Bagh are dense and busy. Around them are the UIT colonies known as Scheme 1, Scheme 2 and Scheme 3, Arya Nagar, the houses on the slopes of Moti Doongri, housing board sectors such as Kala Kuan, and newer colonies along the Delhi and Jaipur roads.
Alwar homes are mostly independent houses, often with the owner's family downstairs and a rented portion above. That means outside staircases, heavy beds and almirahs, and a roof with things stored on it. On Moti Doongri the roads climb, and a long truck may not manage the bends. In the old city the vehicle stops at the edge of the market and goods are carried through the lanes. The newer apartment blocks come with a lift and a society office.
Alwar lies at the edge of the National Capital Region, and industry pulls people in: the Matsya Industrial Area on the city's edge, the car and two-wheeler plants at Tapukara near Bhiwadi, and the Japanese companies at Neemrana. Government offices and the colleges add transfers. Many families move to Gurgaon and Delhi for work, and some come the other way from the NCR for a bigger house for the money.

Old city around Hope Circus
Market lanes below the fort, crowded from mid-morning. Our truck waits at the edge of the bazaar while a handcart or small tempo brings everything out.

UIT colonies where houses sit behind their own gates on roomy roads. Parking is simple, and the rented portion upstairs usually has its own outside stairs.

Society and building rules
In an independent house, the landlord is the person to settle with: rent, bills, meter readings and handing over the keys while the crew is still on site. If you are the tenant upstairs, tell the family downstairs the day, since the crew will be on the shared stairs for a few hours. Apartment societies on the Delhi road side want dues cleared and a lift booking. Company flats in MIA, Bhiwadi and Neemrana need an HR or admin sign-off before goods can leave.

Where the truck can stand
The Scheme colonies and the housing board sectors take a truck, though parked cars can hold it at the end of the lane. Around Hope Circus and the bazaars below the fort nothing big fits once the shops open, so the goods come out on a small vehicle. Moti Doongri's slopes have tight corners that decide whether the main truck climbs or waits below. Industrial area roads are wide, but the gate controls who enters, so the pass must be in hand.

Traffic and timing
Hope Circus and the roads around the old bazaars stay crowded from late morning until the shops shut, and the Delhi and Bhiwadi roads carry heavy truck traffic through the day. Goods vehicles have limited hours in the city centre, so we load early. Wedding processions in the winter season close some roads in the evenings. In December and January, fog on the Delhi side often holds back an early start until visibility improves.

Weather and the months to plan around
Summers are hot, with May and June afternoons above 44°C and dust in the air, so we start at first light. The monsoon, July to September, brings good rain for Rajasthan, and water collects on low roads and at underpasses after a heavy spell. Winters are cold, and fog from late December into January slows the Delhi and Bhiwadi roads in the morning, so a long load leaves once it lifts. For an easy move, pick October to November or February to March.

I have a new job in Gurgaon. Can the move be done in a day?
Yes. Gurgaon is about 140 km via Sohna, so the truck leaves Alwar before noon and reaches the new flat by evening. Gurgaon societies usually fix a service lift slot and ask for the truck and crew details ahead, so settle that with the facility office first. A move into Delhi itself is usually delivered at night, when trucks are allowed in.
My company is moving me into a flat in Bhiwadi or Neemrana. What do you need?
The address, the gate rules for the township or company housing, and whether your employer is paying. If it is, the quote and GST invoice carry the company's name. We send the vehicle number and crew list for the gate pass in advance, and the move from Alwar city is done in a day.
Our house is on Moti Doongri. Will the truck get up the road?
