Worker rooms are let by the month, and the owner wants them empty by month end. If goods are collected from inside a plant, the gate asks for the vehicle's papers.

Baddi is flat by Himachal standards, and a 17 ft truck reaches the colonies, the main road and most apartment blocks. The villages are tighter. The lanes of Jharmajri, Katha and Bhud are narrow and crowded with bikes and handcarts, and a tempo ferries loads out to where the truck is parked by the highway. Around Barotiwala and on the slopes above it, some link roads are steep and rough, and a smaller truck is used there.
