Highway-side homes are loaded from the service road, the industrial colonies have wide internal roads once security lets the vehicle in, and the newer row house schemes have room at the gate. The village is the difficult part, with lanes too narrow for a truck to turn, so the goods go out by tempo. On the riverside and the farm tracks, a smaller vehicle does the last stretch after rain.

NH 48 through Shirwal is busy every day and heaviest at weekends, when traffic for Satara, Wai and Mahabaleshwar heads south on Friday evening and Saturday morning and comes back on Sunday evening.
