It will not get into the lanes of Old Hubli, Durgadbail or the streets behind the station during the day, and we switch to a pickup there, running goods out to the truck on the main road. On the road to Dharwad the BRTS corridor takes the middle and the mixed lanes are narrow, so a truck cannot stand there, and we find a side road even if it means a longer carry.

Traffic and timing
The markets open by 10 am and stay busy until late, so moves in the centre start early. Traffic backs up around Chennamma Circle, the old bus stand and the station at school and office hours. Ganesh Chaturthi is big in Hubli, with large public idols and immersion processions that close central roads for most of a night, and the annual fair at the Siddharoodha Math brings crowds into Old Hubli. Weekday mornings outside those dates are the easiest time to move.
