Nanded grew up along the Godavari. The old city, the market lanes and the Takht Sachkhand Sri Hazur Abchalnagar Sahib stand close to the river, with Sikh neighbourhoods around the Gurudwara. Newer Nanded has spread out to CIDCO's New Nanded, to Vishnupuri with its university and its engineering and medical colleges, and to Taroda and the roads out of town. Vazirabad and Shivaji Nagar, in between, mix old houses with newer flats.
Houses near the markets often stand on small plots with steep staircases, and the lanes around the Gurudwara fill with pilgrims soon after dawn, so those moves need extra hands and a small vehicle. The newer colonies are easier, with wide roads and space outside, though many flats are in buildings with a small lift or none. The lanes around Hazur Sahib and the old markets are narrow and crowded with people, autos and pilgrim buses, so the main truck stays on the nearest main road and a smaller vehicle shuttles. CIDCO and Vishnupuri have wide roads and room outside most houses. In Vazirabad and Shivaji Nagar the truck can pull up outside, but not for long once the afternoon traffic builds.

Morning is the best time in Nanded. Pilgrim traffic around the Gurudwara peaks at prayer times, and the market roads fill by late morning. Hola Mohalla, Dasara at Hazur Sahib and the Gurpurabs bring processions and very large crowds, and roads near the Takht close for hours at a time. Nanded is hot even for Marathwada, with May afternoons often above 42°C, so the crew starts early and electronics are loaded last. We live near Hazur Sahib. Which days should we avoid for the move?
