Apartment buildings are fewer and more recent, mostly along the Ambad and Aurangabad roads, and many have a small lift or no lift at all.
That makes a Jalna move mostly about stairs and storage. Jalna is mostly independent houses, so the paperwork is light. Neighbours sharing your lane deserve a word the evening before, since the truck will block it for a few hours. The newer apartment buildings are informal: a word with the secretary or the builder, and a letter from the owner if you rent. Company quarters near the MIDC and on the seed company campuses go back to the employer's admin office, which inspects the house before accepting the keys.

Where the truck can stand
New Jalna and the colonies on the Ambad and Aurangabad roads are open enough for a 17 ft truck to pull in at the gate. Old Jalna is the exception. Its lanes are narrow, shopfronts spill onto them, and handcarts and two-wheelers leave little space, so the big vehicle is left at the mouth of the lane and a smaller one makes several short trips. Around the MIDC the truck has to find space between steel trailers, which is easier early in the day.

Traffic and timing
Mornings are the easy time to load in Jalna. The market roads and the approach to the Mondha fill up by late morning, and steel trailers keep the MIDC roads busy all day. Heavy vehicles may face restricted hours on the town roads. Ganesh festival, Navratri and Eid processions pass through Old Jalna, and its lanes are best left alone on those days. Outside the market area, a Sunday can work well.

Weather and the months to plan around
Jalna lies in Marathwada's dry belt. April and May climb to 41°C or 42°C, with dust in the air, so loading starts before 8 am and the fridge and television go into the truck last. The monsoon is short and uneven, and a heavy spell turns unpaved colony roads to mud. From November to February the days are dry and mild, which makes those months the simplest to plan.
