The newer colonies and Civil Lines leave room for a 14 or 17 ft truck at the gate. The old market lanes around Gorelal Chowk are narrow and busy, so the truck stops where the road opens up and a tempo carries. Near the junction, the roads across the railway line are slow, and in harvest season rice trucks fill the approach to the mills. Village addresses may need a small vehicle on narrow field roads.

Mornings are best, before the market fills. In the paddy harvest, from October into December, tractors and rice lorries crowd the roads around the mills.
