Dharashiv is a quiet district town on the Balaghat plateau, spread along the roads to Tuljapur, Latur, Solapur and Barshi. People here mostly live in independent houses of one or two floors, some around a courtyard, and newer colonies of bungalows and small apartment blocks have grown on the edges. The old town near the market has closer lanes and older houses, many with steep inside stairs.
The biggest name in the district is Tuljapur, about 20 km away, where the Tulja Bhavani temple draws pilgrims from across Maharashtra and beyond. The temple, its trade and its hotels keep people moving there. Dharashiv itself runs on the district administration, the courts, an engineering college, a government medical college and the sugar factories scattered across the district.
Most jobs here are straightforward. Houses have space around them and the roads are wide, so the time goes on packing, heavy wooden furniture and terrace and store rooms. The harder cases are old town lanes, village addresses, and houses near the Tuljapur temple, where the crowds decide when a truck can come in. Staff quarters are handed back through an estate office on a fixed date.

Society and building rules
Societies with rules are rare in Dharashiv, since most homes are independent houses or small rented buildings. The owner's agreement on the date and a paid light bill cover most of it. Newer apartment blocks may want the secretary told a day ahead. Staff in government colonies, police quarters or college housing have to arrange the handover inspection with their office, and a truck booked before that date is fixed may end up waiting.

Where the truck can stand
Dharashiv's main roads and newer colonies are open and easy for a 14 or 17 ft truck, with room to park at the gate. Trouble comes in the old town, where lanes are narrow and shopfronts spill onto them, and in Tuljapur near the temple, where vehicles are held back from the lanes for much of the day. In both places a smaller vehicle does short runs to the main truck.

Traffic and timing
Traffic in town is light outside market hours, and the calendar matters more than the clock. Navratri at Tuljapur brings lakhs of pilgrims, the Solapur and Tuljapur roads crawl for days, and roads near the temple close. Kojagiri Purnima, when crowds walk to Tuljapur, is another heavy day. Plan a move around those dates, and the rest of the year is easy.

Weather and the months to plan around
The town sits high on the plateau and the air is dry. April and May still reach 40°C, with a strong afternoon sun, and packing is done in the cooler hours. The monsoon is light and uncertain, with a few heavy days that turn village roads soft. Winter mornings are cool and clear, and the months after the Navratri crowds have gone are the best for a move.

My documents still say Osmanabad. Does that matter for the move?
No. Dharashiv is the new name for the same town and district, and addresses with either name reach the same place. The quote, inventory and invoice can use the name your employer or your documents use, so a transfer claim is not held up by the change.
Should I avoid Navratri for a move near Tuljapur?
Yes, if you can. Through Navratri and on Kojagiri Purnima the town fills with pilgrims, roads near the temple close to vehicles, and the highway from Solapur is slow. A move in Dharashiv town itself is less affected, but a truck heading south or west will still meet the crowds. Any quiet weekday outside those dates is far easier.
Can you move us from Umarga to Hyderabad?
Yes. Umarga sits on the highway to Hyderabad, which is about 230 km away, so a load that leaves Umarga early can be there by evening, and unloading depends on your new building's shifting hours. Many Hyderabad communities ask for a move-in form and a lift booking, so arrange those before the date.
Can you move a family to Solapur on the same day?
Yes. Solapur is about 65 km, well within the local band of the rate card, and the usual day is packing in the morning and unloading by afternoon. If the new home is in one of Solapur's older neighbourhoods with tight lanes, tell us at the survey so a smaller vehicle is ready for the last stretch.
