Call or WhatsApp a mover with both addresses, the floor and lift at each, your home size and the date, then send a short video of every room. With that in hand, a Pune mover can put a written quote in front of you the same day, and a 1 BHK can often move the next day if a crew and truck are free.
Sometimes there is no notice. A transfer order arrives, a landlord does not renew, or a possession date comes forward, and the move has to happen this week. It can be done in Pune as long as you decide quickly, because the crew cannot plan anything until they know what is going and where.
The first message to send, and why a video helps
Five details get you a real answer fast: the pickup address with its floor and lift, the drop address with the same, the size of the home, the date you need, and whether a car or bike is moving too. Leave one out and the first reply will be a question, which can cost you half a day.
Then walk through the house on a video call, or record a two-minute clip on WhatsApp. Go slowly, open the wardrobes and the loft, and show the balcony and anything heavy. We survey in person or on video, and a clear walkthrough lets us write an itemised figure without waiting for a surveyor to find a free slot.
If you live near Wakad, where our head office is, a surveyor can often come the same evening. The same goes for the east side of the city, close to our branch in Wadgaon Sheri. Elsewhere in Pune and PCMC the video call is the faster route.
How many days before moving to book packers and movers in Pune
On a normal timeline, three to five days of notice is enough for a local move inside Pune. For an interstate move, give a week or two, because the truck, the crew and sometimes a car carrier all have to line up. Month-end dates and weekends fill first, so add a few days if your date falls on either.
Those extra days buy you time to get two or three written quotes, check each company's GST number and sort out society permissions at both ends. They also leave room for a survey in person, which is the most accurate way to price a large home.
As the notice shrinks, the order of things changes. With less than a week, fix the date first and ask whether a crew is free before anything else. With two or three days, the video survey replaces the home visit and the society paperwork starts the same hour. With one day, the size of the home decides whether it can be done at all.
What short notice can realistically get you
A 1 BHK the next day is usually possible if a crew and vehicle are free, and midweek dates are the easiest
A 2 BHK in two days is normally fine outside month end
A 3 BHK in three days works, with packing starting the day before loading
A same-day move happens sometimes, for a small load, if you call early in the morning
Month-end weekends are the hardest dates to fill at short notice, so ask the moment you know your date

Get society permissions at both buildings
This is the thing that holds up an urgent move more than any other. Ask each society office for the gate pass and the lift slot as soon as the date is fixed. Townships such as Magarpatta give out the service lift in named slots, and missing yours can cost half a day. In the towers around Balewadi, the office may also ask for a refundable deposit and the crew's identity proof, which we send with the vehicle details.
Pack one bag that stays with you
Documents, jewellery, cash, passports, laptops, medicines, chargers and a change of clothes go in a single bag that never goes near the truck.
Empty and defrost the fridge
A fridge needs to stand defrosted and dry for a few hours before it moves. Switch it off the night before and wipe it out in the morning, and drain the washing machine at the same time.
What to pack yourself, and what to leave to the crew
If you want to help, pack clothes, books, linen, shoes and toys. They take real time on the day, need no special skill and cannot break.
Leave the kitchen, electronics, mirrors, glassware and artwork to the crew. Our own packing staff handle these every day, and they are the items that get damaged when someone wraps them at midnight in a rush. Mark each carton with the room it goes to in the new home. A label naming the old room slows down the unloading.
Checks that still matter when you are in a hurry
Urgency is when people skip the written quote. Get the price in writing before packing starts, with what it includes, and read it once. For a move within the city, the figure should sit inside the bands on our Pune price list, and anything above them should have a reason written next to it.
A rushed booking is also what fake movers look for. They answer the first call, ask for a large advance on UPI and never send a truck. Before any money changes hands, check that the GSTIN on the quote belongs to the company you are talking to, using the taxpayer search on the GST portal. Keep the inventory as well. The crew lists what was packed, you sign it at loading, and the same list is checked at delivery. It takes ten minutes and settles any question about a missing carton.
If the new home is not ready yet
Moving out in a hurry does not have to mean moving in on the same day. We can keep your goods at our Pune warehouse, billed monthly, and deliver them when you get the keys. If the new home is also in Pune, the delivery out of the warehouse is a local shift booked for the day you get possession, and it is quoted separately from the monthly charge.
